Cold winds gushing across the shoulders and magnificent gaze upon the snow covered peaks enlightens the spirit, rejuvenating lost peace of soul. This actually happened while I was travelling through the heaven on earth named as Kashmir. This traditionally beautiful province of India lies in the northern parts covered with elegance of the youngest mountain of the world; Himalayas. Be it the scenic beauty or the savorous cuisines Kashmir is a fairyland of everyone’s dream.

Our journey started with trekking sticks in our hand and mufflers around our neck, while we were getting closer and closer to the mighty peaks. Playfulness of this joyous place can be felt with each snowball striking your face. With our company we marched to touch the sky walking through those phenomenal valleys totally covered with the white sheets of snow. Those never ending ways guided us to the top of the mountain where the winds became harsh and our eyes froze glancing at beauty of nature. While sitting on the edge of the mountain I realised that these serene lands help us to find the inner peace that is lost in the hustle and bustle of this modern chaotic world.

Our next stop was the Dal Lake. While we crossed the magnificence of Himalayas, a part of my heart got attached with the beauty of those mountains, while my soul was still skiing through the passages. After a long time, the sun peeked through the clouds and shiny water pearls of the Dal Lake shined like stars. While we got into our house boats, Kashmir had already marked its place somewhere in the bottom of my heart. I was deeply in love with this beautiful place. Dawdling across the chilly waters of Dal Lake, the poems of my soul came to life, and the appeasing beauty took the spirit on an unexpected journey.

The next amazing thing to be experienced in Kashmir was its ultimate cuisine. Rich in variety, Kashmir has some of the great traditional and savorous cuisines, in which something that made my day was the Kashmiri Kahwa tea.
